"Blackbird singing in the dead of night

Take these broken wings and learn to fly

All your life

You were only waiting for this moment to arise."

Artist's Statement

I find joy in making a lasting, beautiful and honest image.

The photographs that most intrigue me are ones that confound and engage; that connect the viewer and me. I strive to capture moments where emotion and light exist within a disciplined, full frame. I am successful when the viewer pauses to linger over the photograph and to consider the story, wondering to themselves, what happened before and just after the shutter closed.

I strive for my photographs to resonate emotionally, with humanity and familiarity celebrating the beauty of our everyday life. Often quiet and still, my photographs are hopeful, imbued with a peaceful appreciation of my world,  the people that cross my path and the wonders of our planet.

I love photography.  I relish each instant of mindful presence stringing snapshots together to build a broader account of purpose and meaning.  I appreciate the changes in perspective as each moment unfurls.  My experience of life is that one must travel the distance from the instant to the infinite, connecting time, and puzzle it together into a narrative of one’s own.
