It is a strange vulnerability most adults cannot muster. We forget how. We forget what it is like for everything to be new, that childlike sense of curiosity and wonder. We cease to be explorers. We know what we know. How beautiful the world is when you only know what you know. It is different. It is the shift of focal point on a camera from that which is in front of you to that which is in the distance - a perspective shift in depth between you and the landscape. Photography taught me this lesson. It helped me to understand that relevance comes through the journey. That life is in the exploration. Once learned, it became impossible for me to think in any other way.
